iBook Author

My friend, Fawn, told me about an app her kids used to make her an e-cookbook, iBook Author. So of course I had to download it and I've been taking pictures of food to put into my own. Here's my homemade chicken noodle soup.

Chickens

We're raising chickens this year, and they started laying about a month ago. Here is the first egg we got!

And here is the first one I ate! It was a pretty big egg, and the chicken had skipped laying the day before. When I cracked it into the pan, it was a double yolk! Delicious.

Reading

I really like these books by Anne Perry, and the stories I'm finding on the web about her are pretty interesting, too! I have read these six, and I'm on the seventh one.

Quilting

I took a quilting class earlier this summer and this is what I made! This is a half-square triangle pattern.

My first two attempts at free-motion quilting doing a stippling pattern. I'm taking a Craftsy class online. I cannot figure out why my phone takes these weird inverted shadow pictures.

Crochet and Knitting Latest Projects

Here is the cute giraffe I made for Samantha to go with the flamingo. I also sold one to a friend!

I got bored at Grandma's house when I was taking care of the "farm" and so I made these slippers for Cameron, Brittany's boyfriend. He keeps wearing the ones I made for her several years ago, so he needed his own. And he only likes green.

Here's my first attempt at felting slippers. (They haven't been felted yet.)

Resurrecting the Blog with a Flamingo

I have really enjoyed crafting lately. I made Kiersten a zebra and posted a picture on Facebook. Then Samantha, my niece, asked if I could make a flamingo and a giraffe. So here's the cute pink flamingo, and I will post a picture of the giraffe when he is done. So fun. And nice to have a project that I can do in a few days instead a few years. (Mom's quilt!)
